'I believe that the launch in Scotland of the Anne Frank educational programme will provide an opportunity for school children not just to learn about the horror of the Holocaust, but to gain an appreciation of the importance of understanding, tolerance and the need to reduce hatred in modern, outward-looking Scotland'. -John Park MSP for Mid-Scotland and Fife addressing the Scottish Parliament in June 2008
Anne Frank Scotland, the Scottish branch of The Anne Frank Trust UK, a partner charity of The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.
Anne Frank Scotland and The Anne Frank Trust UK draw on the power of Anne Frank’s life and diary to challenge prejudice and reduce hatred, encouraging people to embrace positive attitudes, responsibility and respect for others.
The centrepiece of the work is the travelling exhibition, Anne Frank: A History for Today, used in schools and community venues which acts as the focus for educational programmes for young people.
